I wanted to write a quick post today to encourage those currently going through recruitment as a PNM or chapter member, (but this can apply to absolutely anyone at anytime!!).
I believe being in a sorority, fraternity, or any greek organization is about feeling welcomed into a group of like-minded individuals who have commonalities and share the same values. And with the tradition of having bigs and littles, there is especially an aspect of mentorship embedded into the friendship. As a member already in a sorority, I've personally been praying for a pledge class (aka PC 20) that feels at home in our house and for a little who I can mentor and help guide in her faith. And at the root of it all, I've been praying for genuine and loving fellowship. So today, I wanted to share some verses about fellowship that have inspired me during work week/recruitment and have kept me motivated to get an awesome PC 20!!
I am praying for a PC that...
encourages one another.
I don't know about you, but I love being surrounded by uplifting, positive people who motivate me and act as a 24/7 support system.

1 Thessalonians 5:11
"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."
Hebrews 10:25
"Don't give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
is like-minded.
While opposites attract, it is extremely important to share common values and beliefs that matter to you.

1 Peter 3:8
"Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble."
makes each other better.
I want to be a better person today than I was yesterday. I want to find friends that pick me up when I'm down and constantly remind me of the song I Like Me Better by Lauv.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up."
shines as a light to everyone around them.
One of my favorite quotes is"stay close to people who feel like sunshine". Imagine being a part of an entire sisterhood that feels like sunshine. That'd be rad.

Matthew 5:16
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
1 John 1:7
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."
inspires good.
While encouraging your friends is great, inspiring them may be even better. To inspire is to "fill one with the urge or ability to do or feel something, especially something creative". I think there's something beautiful in inspiring others to unlock their hidden potential and I am grateful for the people in my life who have been inspirations to me.

Hebrews 10:24
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds."
Whether you're religious or not, I hope these verses have inspired you to seek out that fellowship you've been missing, or have evoked a sense of thankfulness if you are blessed with great community already!
I believe it is imperative to never stop making friends, and to make everyone feel included and loved no matter where they're at in life. So, my challenge for you this week is to make a new friend and to be intentional in finding good people to surround yourself with. I love you guys!! You always have a friend in me, that's for sure😉.
Love,
Erica
